The purpose of this article is to discuss political appointment system and the practical operation of the U.S. Federal Government, including range of political appointees, factors that the President considers when making the appointment, terms, pressure of political appointees and interaction model between political appointees and regular civilian officers, etc in the hope to learn from their experiences.
