2002

  • June - Yao Chia-wen is appointed president of the Examination Yuan while Iban Nokan, Wu Mao-hsiung, Wu Tai-cheng, Wu Chia-li, Lee Ching-hsiung, Lee Grace Whei-may, Lin Yu-tee, Chiu Tsong-juh, Hung Teh-hsuan, Hsu Cheng-kuang, Chang Cheng-shuh, Hsu Ching-fu, Kuo Guang-hsiung, Chen Mao-hsiung, Liu Wu-tse, Liu Hsin-sun, Tsai Shih-yuan, Tsai Bih-hwang, Bian Yu-yuan are named commissioners.
  • September - Chu Wu-hsien is named Secretary-General of the Examination Yuan.
  • Novemer - International Symposium on the Development of the Civil Service System in the 21st Century is held.

2003

  • October - International Conference on Government Reform and the Civil Service System is held.

2004

  • January - The Political Appointee Retirement and Consolation Payment Act is promulgated.
  • May - Lin Chia-cheng is appointed Minister of Examination; Wu Rong-ming, Minister of Civil Service; and Chou Hung-hsien, Chairman of the Civil Service Protection and Training Commission.
  • June - Wu Rong-ming is appointed Vice President of the Examination Yuan. Chu Wu-hsien is appointed Minister of Civil Service.
  • July - Wu Yin-Chang is named Secretary-General of the Examination Yuan. This order shall be effective as of Auguest 1,2004.

2005

  • October - 2005 National Personnel Administration Conference is held.
  • December - International Academic Conference on Reforming and Development of Civil Service System in a New Era is held.

2006

  • January - Liu Shou-cheng is appointed Chairman of Civil Service Protection and Training Commission. Chang Chun-yen is named Secretary-General of the Examination Yuan.

2008

  • May - Examination Yuan Secretary-General Chang Chun-yen resigns and Deputy Secretary-General Tsai Liang-wen is named Acting Secretary-General from May 20; Minister of Examination Lin Chia-cheng and Political Deputy Minister Chiou Chi-ho resign, Administrative Deputy Minister Hwang David Yea-baang is named acting such posts from May 20, 2008; Minister of Civil Service Chu Wu-hsien and Political Vice Minister Lee Jo-i resign,  Administrative Vice Minister Wu Chung-cheng is named acting such posts from May 20, 2008;Chairman of Civil Service Protection and Training Commission Liu Shou-cheng and Vice Chairman Shen Kun-hsing resign, Vice Chairman Cheng Chi-nan is named acting such posts from May 20, 2008.
  • July – Acting Chairman of Civil Service Protection and Training Commission Cheng Chi-nan retires and Vice President of the Examination Yuan Wu Rong-ming is named acting such a post.
