August - Liu Chi-hung and Chang Tsung-liang are appointed president and vice president of the sixth Examination Yuan, respectively. Chang Kuang-ya and 18 others are named members of the Yuan. 
December - Tang Chen-tsu is named minister of examination.

1980
August - The Private School Teachers and Staff Insurance Statutes are promulgated. 

1981
January - Liu Hsien-yun is appointed secretary-general of the Examination Yuan.
December - The Statutes on the Personnel Employment and Management of Budgeting, Accounting, and Statistics Agencies are promulgated. 

1982
January - The Health Insurance Statutes for the Dependents of Public Functionaries are promulgated. 

1984
January - The Awards Statutes are promulgated.
