August - Sun Ke and Yang Liang-kung are appointed president and vice president of the fifth Examination Yuan, respectively. Cheng Ti-hsuan and 18 others are named members of the Yuan.

1973
September - Examination Yuan President Sun Ke passes away.
October - Yang Liang-kung and Liu Chi-hung are named Examination Yuan president and vice president, respectively. 

 1974
Tso Yi-yuan is appointed secretary-general of the Examination Yuan.

 1975
October - Han Chung-mo is named minister of civil service. 

 1976
January - The Police Officials Management Statutes are promulgated.

 1977
April - Teng Chuan-kai is appointed minister of civil service.
